Tutu Jones CD Release Party
Tutu Jones was born in Dallas Texas and started his music career
with family members in the early 1970s. Along the way, Tutu met and
played with such legendary artists as Z.Z. Hill, Little Milton, Johnnie
Taylor, Little Joe Blue and Al “TNT” Braggs.
Since becoming a solo act, Tutu has shared the stage with artists
such as Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Millie Jackson, Robert Cray, Bobby “Blue”
Bland, Denise LaSalle, Al Green, Little Richard, and others.
Tutu is more than the sum of his influences (though distinguished
influences they are!) He is first and foremost an individualist, who
puts a very personal stamp on every note that he plays and every
syllable that he sings. You could call him the living personification
of the sound of South Dallas, where Blues and Soul meet and are
stronger for it. $5 Cover

Baker Hotel
Baker Hotel produces a sound unlike any other. Frontman Carter Beckworth's unparalleled songwriting mixed with the driving guitar & piano instrumentation results in "a top pick of local bands to go listen to in Austin” (Texas Beer Maps). The sound is reminiscent of such groundbreakers like Pearl Jam, Zeppelin, and the Allman Brothers. Baker Hotel’s 2005, Oxford, Mississippi origin and notoriety for passionately driven stage performances brought them to Austin, Texas in the spring of 2008. Original members Carter Beckworth, Reed Barrett, and Simon Page added drummer Rex Rizk and bassist Chris Friend. Carter Beckworth writes the majority of Baker Hotel’s songs, though in a group comprised of lifelong musicians, all members practice a collaborative approach in developing the Rock/Pop, Southern Alt-Rock influence that shines in Baker Hotel. $5 cover.

Tinsley Ellis
Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Tinsley Ellis ranks among the top blues/rock guitarists working today. Ellis sings and plays with the energy and soul of all the great Southern
musicians who have come before him. He attacks his music with rock
power and blues feeling, in the same tradition as Deep South musical
heroes Duane Allman, Freddie King and Warren Haynes.
Atlanta Magazine declared Ellis “the most significant blues artist to emerge from
Atlanta since Blind Willie McTell.” Since first hitting the national scene with his Alligator Records debut GEORGIA BLUE in 1988, Ellis has toured non-stop and continued to release one critically acclaimed album after another. Tinsley’s hometown paper, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, calls his music, “a potent, amazing trip through electric blues-rock.”
Rolling Stone said, “feral blues guitar…non-stop gigging has sharpened his six-string
to a razor’s edge…his eloquence dazzles…he achieves pyrotechnics that
rival Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.” $15 cover or $12 if purchased online in advance, click here
